Restoring hand movement and sensation
This image shows a remarkable new idea from neuroscience research: building a “detour” so messages can travel between the brain and the hand even after a severe spinal cord injury. In this study, researchers created a system that helped one person with paralysis move a hand and feel touch again, showing how brain signals, computers, and gentle stimulation can work together in a powerful new way. It is an exciting example of science being used to restore everyday abilities and independence. A commendable job to the authors for this creative and inspiring work.
